Tuition
This year, Loop Abroad has been fortunate to receive partial funding in support of our mission. Between this, and our partnerships with numerous environmental organizations in Northern Thailand, we have been able to lower the costs of this year's program significantly.
The tuition for the one-month program is $5,900.
The program fee includes the following:
• basic travel insurance coverage
• all ground and air transportation in Thailand
• all fees and donations associated with the Elephant Nature Park and Journey to Freedom
• dorm accommodations in Chiang Mai
• all meals in Chiang Mai, both in the hostel and in restaurants
• hostel services including filtered water, internet, linen service, laundry service, and use of telephone (free to US)
• all program activities, including but not limited to trekking, zip lining, cooking
courses, temple visits, excursions, retreats, bowling, movies and park admissions fees
• use of trekking equipment, including but not limited to lodges, mats, tents,
sleeping bags, binoculars and rain gear
• program T-shirts and welcome pack
Program fee does not include:
• international airfare between Boston and Northern Thailand; will book travel as a group; estimated at $1800.
• Overweight baggage/shipping fees, phone calls, snacks and drinks and SIM cards.
The program cost covers everything we will be doing in Thailand. Students may want to bring some spending money to cover the purchase of clothing, souvenirs, toiletries, snacks, phone calls, postage, or other incidentals.
Before applying, we encourage you to take the time to read the curriculum for the program to which you are considering applying. A comprehensive international summer abroad program like the one we offer is academically, emotionally and physically challenging. You should read about Thailand, Chiang Mai, and the details of our program. We encourage you to visit our Frequently Asked Questions page, and please feel free to contact our staff with any questions you may have about the program.
Loop Abroad summer programs are selective and your application will be carefully considered by our program faculty. All programs are limited enrollment in order to provide sufficient accommodations for all our participants and maintain an excellent faculty: staff ratio. Admission is rolling; thus, early application is encouraged. Students will be notified in writing once a decision has been made regarding their acceptance to the program. Most students will receive a response within two weeks of Loop Abroad’s receiving their application.
*Please note that departure and return dates may fluctuate by one or two days due to group flight restrictions/availability.
