Aayah Bdour, DVM
Support Staff
Aayah moved several times throughout her childhood before eventually settling in California. Growing up, she spent many summers visiting family in Jordan, where time at her grandpa’s farm sparked her love for horses. Although she was always fascinated by animals, it wasn’t until her second year of college that she decided to pursue that passion as a career. She graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2025 with a B.S. in Animal Science specializing in Equine Science. During her undergraduate years, Aayah gained hands-on experience working at the UC Davis Horse Barn and the Equine NICU. Through these roles, she developed a strong interest in equine reproduction and neonatal foal care. She also served as a board member for the Equine Medicine and Camelid Club, creating an inclusive environment where students with little to no horse experience could get involved in the field. In the summer of 2024, she interned at a wildlife habitat in Australia with Loop Abroad, where several first-time experiences left a lasting impression. She saw kangaroos along with other native wildlife, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef where she even spotted a shark, and hiked through the Daintree Rainforest. These opportunities expanded her interest in wildlife and exotic species beyond equine veterinary medicine. In Aayah’s free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, photography, horseback riding, going to the gym, spending time with family and her cat, Pinky.
