Amanda Lee Salb, DVM

Veterinarian

Originally from Arkansas, Amanda earned her BA from Mount Holyoke College, DVM from Louisiana State University, and MSc from the University of Calgary. After 7 years of zoo and exotics work in the United States, she headed to Malawi where she spent 9 years working as a wildlife veterinarian for the government and NGOs with species ranging from pangolins and cheetahs to baboons and black rhinos. She can be seen in action on the TV series Malawi Wildlife Rescue. For a change of scene and some new challenges, she headed to Chad and was based in a national park for 15 months. Continuing her career exploration, she headed to SE Asia and discovered a new love of moon bears. After returning to Malawi, where she has permanent residence, she is on a new adventure as co-owner of the first wildlife private practice in the country.
