Amber Hinson, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Amber Hinson grew up in South Florida showing and training horses. She moved to Colorado in 1995 and obtained a B.S. in Biology from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2000 and then her doctorate (DVM) from Colorado State University in 2005. After graduation, she completed a one-year internship at an equine hospital in central Florida. Dr. Amber has experience working with all types of animals from dogs and cats, to horses and cattle, to birds, reptiles, pocket pets and wildlife. She spent a few years working overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan as a veterinarian for explosive detection dogs. She currently travels all over the globe as a contract veterinarian in various disciplines. She also volunteers for various animal-related projects (mostly spay/neuter initiatives) all over the world. Her most recent travels have taken her to Ukraine, Palau, Belize, Cameroon, Angola, Cambodia, and India. Dr. Amber started her own non-profit animal charity in 2019 called World Tails and is planning a spay/neuter trip to Jerusalem in August of 2024 (www.worldtails.org).
