Amber Hinson, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Hinson was born in North Dakota but raised in South Florida. She has a B.S. in Biology and obtained her doctorate from Colorado State University in 2005. After graduation, she completed a one-year internship at an equine hospital in central Florida.

Dr. Hinson has experience working with all types of animals from dogs and cats, to horses and cattle, to birds, reptiles, pocket pets, and wildlife. She has spent the last few years working overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan as a veterinarian for explosive detection dogs.

She currently travels to volunteer for various animal-related projects (mostly spay/neuter initiatives) all over the world. Some of her recent travels have taken her to Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Malawi, Tasmania, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Dr. Hinson recently started her own non-profit animal charity called World Tails (www.worldtails.org).
