Caio Okamoto, DVM

Veterinarian

Caio Okamoto is a Brazilian veterinarian with a strong background in zoological and wildlife medicine, as well as experience in exotic animal practice and intensive care. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of São Paulo (FMVZ-USP), one of the leading veterinary schools in Latin America. He also holds a postgraduate degree in intensive care and anesthesia of non-conventional pets and wildlife. Following graduation, Caio worked as an intensivist and clinician in exotic animal practice. He then completed a residency in Zoological Medicine, where he gained hands-on experience working with a wide range of species. His clinical interests include anesthesia, analgesia, and critical care, with a focus on evidence-based approaches to improve animal welfare. Caio has worked in multiple zoological institutions across Brazil, contributing to animal care, preventive medicine programs, and clinical case management. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and values continuous learning, collaboration, and practical problem-solving. In his free time, Caio enjoys traveling, exploring nature, and cooking. He has a particular interest in discovering new cultures through food and is always looking for opportunities to combine his passion for animals with global experiences.
