Celia Kistner

Group Leader

Celia is from the Kansas City area and has grown up there her entire life. She got her bachelors degree in biology from the University of Missouri- Kansas City in 2024. She has always enjoyed science and learning how things work! She was originally planning on attending vet school but decided she enjoyed the technician side of veterinary medicine more! She worked as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor all through high school and then worked at an animal shelter during college. She eventually got a job as a veterinary assistant and now works as a veterinary technician at a clinic that sees small animals and exotics (and some wildlife too)! She loves traveling and got hooked on traveling abroad after doing the global semester with Loop in 2021! Since then she has revisited Thailand and many other countries. She enjoys being near the ocean and scuba diving whenever the opportunity arises. She even swam with whale sharks while in Mexico, checking off a bucket list item of hers! Celia enjoys going on walks with her dogs, fostering bottle kittens, volunteering at the zoo as a diver, reading, and spending time with her boyfriend.
