Diana Cedillo, DVM

Veterinarian

Diana is a veterinarian from Mexico. After graduating from vet school she worked at a small animal hospital in Mexico City during the pandemic, once traveling was a little easier she decided to follow her passion for wildlife and went to Chiapas in the south of Mexico to volunteer at a Howler Monkey Sanctuary where they would rescue, rehabilitate and release orphaned or hurt monkeys. Her experience volunteering there made her realize how much she wanted to pursue a career that involved helping wildlife. Diana currently works in a vet clinic that only receives dogs and cats, which has allowed her to keep learning about the latest developments in medicine and practice her clinical skills, but year after yea,r she has also made sure to find ways to contribute to wildlife conservation and keep gaining experience in wildlife medicine. She spent almost a year living in Costa Rica doing internships at Toucan Rescue Ranch, where she was part of the vet team of the Release site. She also did an internship at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) in Sanibel Island, Florida. She is thrilled to be working with Loop Abroad because she’s always enjoyed teaching and believes the connections you make along the way are one of the most valuable things you gain from these experiences. Whether it’s a dog, cat, monkey, or toucan, Diana has enjoyed every minute of following her childhood dream of becoming a Veterinarian. When she’s not being a vet, she enjoys making plans with her loved ones, especially if it involves nature and food. Her definition of a perfect evening is watching the sunset while taking her dog Lua on a walk with her boyfriend Josh.
