Elliot Westrich is a veterinary student at the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from the Purdue University College of Agriculture in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences, with a minor in History. Originally from Evansville, Indiana, during his five years at Purdue he has worked extensively with wildlife and zoo animals, having worked as a seasonal zookeeper for the past four years and travelling to two different countries to work with wildlife rehabilitation services. Elliot has also assisted with research on iguanas and continues to remain involved in exotic animal veterinary medicine while as a student at Purdue. Elliot has been a staff member for Loop Abroad previously, having led students on multiple dental internship weekends at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, IN. He is passionate about exotic animal veterinary medicine and is hoping to serve in a career focused on wildlife or zoological veterinary medicine after completing veterinary school. Elliot is especially passionate about reptiles and big cats and hopes to work with both in his future career. In his free time, Elliot enjoys hanging out with his pets, going on hikes, spending time with friends and family, reading about history, and watching Purdue sports. He has traveled to two foreign countries and several states to work with wildlife and is hoping to one day work with wildlife in Australia.
