Emily Hughes, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Emily Hughes received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Animal Science at Texas A&M University and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. Following graduation, she completed an internship at an equine referral hospital in Texas. Since that time, she has mostly been working as a mobile equine veterinarian in the North Texas area and has started her own mobile equine practice. Her primary interests are in equine reproduction, wound care, routine wellness, and lameness/sports medicine. One of Dr. Emily’s favorite things about being a veterinarian is sharing her love of animals with others. Helping students and owners understand how and why to care for their animals is such an important aspect of what she does and how she tries to set herself apart from other vets. Since college, Dr. Emily has traveled to Mexico, France, England, New Zealand, & Aruba but her favorite travel experience was getting to live in St. Kitts for vet school and wishes she had done more island hopping. She also hopes to get the opportunity to travel more in the future. In her free time, Dr. Emily enjoys spending time with her family, boyfriend, and her Corgis & kitties!
