Gabriela Mazariegos
Belize Support Staff
Born and raised in New Jersey, Gabriela always had a passion for animals—whether it was caring for pets at home, assisting veterinarians in the clinic, or exploring the science behind animal health. Having graduated from Rutgers University in 2024 with a B.A. in Animal Science (Pre-Vet), Gabriela’s journey has been filled with wagging tails, tiny paws, and even some exotic creatures along the way. Her passion for animal care has taken her beyond—whether working with farm animals in Belize, assisting with humane veterinary clinics on the San Carlos Apache Tribe reservation, or gaining hands-on zoo management experience in Texas, Gabriela thrives in dynamic environments that challenge her to grow. With skills in lab animal techniques, research, and veterinary assistance, she is equally comfortable handling a microscope as she is comforting a nervous pup before surgery. From blood collection and genotyping to client education and animal husbandry, Gabriela’s experience spans multiple facets of veterinary medicine. When she is not working with animals, you might find her teaching ballet classes, cruising on her motorcycle, learning new languages, or exploring the world at leisure!
