Jade McKinlay, DVM

Veterinarian

Jade graduated with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2017. Since then she has worked as a companion and exotic animal veterinary surgeon in the UK, with special interests in exotics and wildlife, soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine. She gained general practitioner and post graduate certificates in Exotic Animal Practice in 2021. Throughout her career and time at University, Jade has gained a variety of wildlife medicine and conservation experience. Ranging from Sea turtles in Greece to Wildlife in South Africa, Badgers in the Uk to Marine mammals in Canada. Jade is looking forward to being able to share her passion, knowledge and experiences with the Loop Abroad students. When Jade is not working, she can be found at home her rescue animals, two very naughty rabbits called Pringle and Sylvie and a very ‘special’ british shorthair called Dorito. Or you can find her having adventures with her partner Josh, Rock climbing, Snorkelling or hiking.
