Jayden Stater

Group Leader

Jayden Stater is an undergraduate student at West Texas A&M University, where she is majoring in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary emphasis in preparation for a career in veterinary medicine. She plans to attend veterinary school following the completion of her undergraduate studies and has a strong interest in mixed animal practice, combining her passion for both large and small animal care. She also plans to pursue certification in equine dental care to further expand her skills in specialized equine treatment Jayden has developed extensive hands-on experience working with animals through both personal and professional opportunities. She has spent significant time caring for and working with horses and has also worked at multiple different barns to expand her experience with equine care, management, and handling practices. These experiences have given her a well-rounded understanding of horse behavior, daily care, and the responsibilities required in barn environments. Through this work, she has built strong skills in responsibility, patience, and attention to detail. Jayden is also a member of the West Texas A&M Equestrian Team, where she continues to develop her riding skills while demonstrating dedication, teamwork, and discipline. In addition to her work with horses, Jayden has interned at both animal shelters and veterinary clinics, where she assisted with daily animal care, observed medical procedures, and supported veterinary staff. She also participated in a LOOP Abroad program in Victoria, Texas, during the Summer of 2024, where she gained additional hands-on experience and expanded her understanding of animal care in a new environment. These experiences have strengthened her clinical knowledge, exposed her to a wide range of cases, and reinforced her commitment to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. She especially values opportunities that allow her to work with a variety of species and better understand the diverse needs of animals in different settings. Jayden is committed to developing independence and confidence in her abilities. She focuses on strengthening her decision-making skills and approaching challenges with resilience and adaptability. She is particularly interested in gaining international experience to broaden her understanding of veterinary practices and animal welfare across different communities. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Jayden continues to dedicate much of her time to working with horses and gaining additional hands-on experience with animals. She is motivated by a strong desire to grow both personally and professionally, consistently setting goals that support her development as a future veterinarian. Jayden values meaningful relationships and a strong support system, which continue to shape her work ethic, perspective, and commitment to making a positive impact in the field of veterinary medicine.
