Jenna Hattendorf

Costa Rica Support Staff

Jenna grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was just five years old and dove into a mud puddle to save her best friend’s stuffed dolphin and from there, her passion only grew. In 2019, she studied abroad in Sydney, Australia, and then joined Loop Abroad as a student in Thailand. She loved experiencing veterinary medicine through a different lens and found meaning in learning and taking care of animals in another country. She is excited to form connections with each student and provide a positive experience as a Support Staff member. More recently, Jenna graduated Manga Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University in 2020. She loved Fort Collins and decided to stay there for veterinary school and just finished her second year. She is always up for talking about veterinary applications and is looking forward to providing the advice she wishes she would have had before applying. Jenna has always had a passion for small animal medicine and is working toward specializing and has a strong interest in neurology and internal medicine. Jenna loves traveling. One of her life goals is to visit every continent. Last summer she performed research in Alaska working with sled dogs and loves adventure whether in the freezing cold or summer heat and is extremely excited to be working with Loop Abroad this summer. If you can’t easily find her definitely look in the pool because she loves all things water especially scuba diving!
