Jennifer Colangelo, DVM
Veterinarian
She grew up in a rural area on the Utah/Colorado border and developed a love for the outdoors, animals and helping people and animals in rural communities. Her first job in high school was at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO – creating a love for all animals of any shape, size or continent. She also volunteered with veterinary medicine initiatives in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Mexico and Belize during undergrad and vet school, working with domestic animals as well as sea turtles, monkeys and manatees. She was a student with Loop Abroad in 2016 and 2017, traveling to Thailand and South Africa – sparking a passion for travel along with veterinary medicine. She received a dual degree in Veterinary Science (Pre-Vet Concentration) and Veterinary Technology in 2018 from Becker College in Worcester, MA. She then worked as a veterinary genetics coat color mutation researcher at the UC Davis Veterinary Genetics Laboratory before starting Vet School at UC Davis and graduating in 2023. After graduating veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York City and is now an emergency and critical care staff doctor in Colorado Springs, CO. Her interests include anything outdoors (hiking, backpacking, paddle-boarding, swimming and snowboarding) as well as cooking, reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends all over the world and getting some good cuddles with her two cats Rosie and Tazz.
