Karen Heinzerling, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Heinzerling earned her bachelor’s degree in agriculture/animal science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University. She remained in central Ohio to practice small animal general medicine and raise her family. Her experience also includes shelter medicine, and she operates her own mobile practice dedicated to providing in-home euthanasia services. With a history of service on various Ohio Veterinary medical association committees, Dr. Heinzerling now dedicates her time as a board member for a local non-profit. She is driven by a love for animals and a desire to connect with diverse cultures. Her global expeditions include a conservation safari in South Africa where she contributed to a rhinoceros dehorning to combat poaching. Exploring the remarkable wildlife of Ecuador in the Galapagos Islands and visiting sea turtle and rainforest ecology research centers in Costa Rico. When at home, Dr. Heinzerling enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, dog, and cats.
