Kristen Watts, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kristen Watts grew up in the small town of Angleton, Texas. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University in 2019. While earning her undergraduate degree, she volunteered at the Winnie Carter Wildlife Center on campus taking care of various exotic species. In addition, Dr. Watts worked for the PEER Program at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where she taught students K-12th grade and high school about veterinary medicine. After the COVID pandemic, Dr. Watts participated in the Loop Abroad South Africa Zoo Medicine program. Upon graduation, she spent a year as a zookeeper intern and a veterinary intern at a local safari park. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. During veterinary school, Dr. Watts completed rotations at the USDA, Abilene Zoo, State Fair of Texas and Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Upon graduation, she started practicing as a Small Animal Intern in Richwood, TX. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting zoos, hiking, and spending time with her three cats, Bella, Stache and Polka.
