Nicole Del Pino, DVM

Veterinarian

Nicole Del Pino is a small animal urgent care veterinarian practicing in San Diego, CA. She was born and raised in Upstate NY where her love of animals and wildlife started.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Cornell University and went on to get her degree in veterinary medicine at Colorado State University. During her time in veterinary school she was recognized by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine for outstanding knowledge and clinical ability in internal medicine. In veterinary school she worked as a tutor in anatomy to mentor upcoming veterinary students which sparked her love for teaching other students. After graduation she began working at a mixed animal and exotics practice in Oregon prior to moving to California where she started working in small animal practice.

She has an interest in community outreach programs, surgery and public education. In addition to her full time position with Urgent Care she works closely with the San Diego Humane Society providing affordable care to the community and caring for animals within the shelter. She has worked with a variety of species such as horses, raccoons, skunks, reptiles, reindeer, goats and has volunteered internationally in David, Panama at a new world primate rehabilitation center. In her spare time she is a leader of the Street Dog Coalition in downtown San Diego. They provide veterinary care to pets who belong to people experiencing homelessness.

At home, Nicole spends time with her furry friends, Mrs. Puff the Pit bull, Paul and Panji her cats and Pascal the tarantula. If she were to pursue an alternative career it would have been professional snowboarding. Now that she is living closer to the ocean, on the weekends she roller skates at the boardwalk and is learning to surf. Nicole and her partner just started sailing courses and have goals of sailing internationally!
