Olivia McMurray, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Olivia is a young South African veterinarian passionate about wildlife and wilderness conservation – particularly of the African continent. Having grown up on a farm on the outskirts of the famous Kruger National Park amongst African wildlife and deeply immersed in nature, it was no surprise that Olivia followed the path to veterinary medicine. After graduating from the University of Pretoria in 2016 and completing additional training in chemical immobilization of wildlife, she went on to work for the South African government in the rural areas surrounding the Kruger National Park. She worked on disease control and the prevention of the spread between wildlife and livestock. She’s also worked in small animal practices and a small animal shelter taking care of all surgical and medical needs while organizing vaccination, spay, and neuter campaigns for the surrounding communities. Olivia is also an accomplished photographer, artist, and business owner and spends her time traveling around South Africa locuming, taking part in conservation projects for renowned organizations, exploring the wilderness, and using her creative pursuits to deepen our connection to the natural world.
