Ryan Navarro, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Ryan Navarro was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology with a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation from the University of Florida in 2020. He later received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in June 2024 after completing his clinical training at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, he also completed the Global Veterinary Health Track and is a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS). Throughout his training, Dr. Ryan gained experience working with a wide variety of species, including small and large companion animals, wildlife, zoo animals, exotic pets, and species such as bats, manatees, dolphins, and sharks. His veterinary training has also included international clinical experience in both South Africa and Grenada, where he worked alongside veterinarians and conservation teams in diverse clinical and wildlife settings. He has contributed to veterinary research and has published papers on sea lion epilepsy medication and treatments for parasitic infections in rhinoceroses. His professional interests include preventative medicine, exotic and wildlife medicine, surgery, and building strong relationships with clients and their animals. Dr. Ryan currently works at Keys Animal ER at Cruz Animal Hospital and volunteers as a veterinarian at the Marathon Wild Bird Center. Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys SCUBA diving and playing board games. He also cares for an African spurred tortoise named Sully and a Chahoua gecko named Géko.
