Samantha Moffett

Samantha Moffett was originally born in Colorado but grew up in both the Houston and Kansas City areas. In May of 2024, she earned her bachelor’s degree at Fort Hays State University, majoring in animal science on the pre-veterinary track. While in college she volunteered at different school events, Girls on the Run, and the Special Olympics. She currently works at a veterinary clinic and works off and on at the Center of Animal Research and Education. There she works as a keeper taking care of a variety of different species of animals but primarily different feline species. She has had a passion for animals, starting at an early age, and is currently working on her goal of becoming a veterinarian. Her first experience with Loop Abroad was doing the online manatee and crocodile research fellowship. In the summer of 2023, she traveled with Loop Abroad participating in the Global Veterinary Semester abroad. With this program,m she was able to travel to Costa Rica, Thailand, and South Africa. She has been able to work with companion animals, livestock, lions, tigers, margays, elephants, sea turtles, cheetahs, sloths, and many more different species. She loves sharing her passion with others and loves expanding her knowledge of conservation and veterinary medicine. In her free time, she loves to go camping, hiking, being with her dog, and hanging out with her friends. She also enjoys traveling, sports, and trying new foods.
