Samantha Williams

South Africa Support Staff

Samantha grew up in Austin, Texas where she fell in love with the animals she met at the small animal rescue clinic. With a love for science and animals she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Biology from Baylor University in 2023. While in college, she worked as a veterinary assistant at a local small animal hospital and spent her summers volunteering at local animal shelters. When not at the shelter, she joined Loop Abroad on their summer programs to Costa Rica in the summer of 2021 and Spain in 2022. She also participated in an online Jaguar research program with Loop and gained experience in research aimed at wildlife conservation. The incredible experiences she gained with Loop started her love of traveling which encouraged her to apply to veterinary schools abroad. Currently she is pursuing a Veterinary Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Glasgow, where she hopes to specialize in emergency and shelter medicine. During her free time, Samantha enjoys reading, music, playing rugby with her school team, exploring nature with her dog Caspian, and spending time with friends and family. Samantha loves travel and is eager to help create experiences as life-changing as her own when she was a Loop participant and share her passion for veterinary medicine with other students.
