Sara McConeghey, DVM

Veterinarian

Sara is an American veterinarian who is passionate about both companion animals and wildlife. She grew up in Upstate New York and wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age.

Her veterinary career started when she attended Medaille College with majors in Veterinary Technology and Biology. Sara opted to take some time off after earning her bachelor’s degree and spent 4 years as a veterinary technician in the medical device industry. Later, she attended veterinary school at Iowa State University to earn her DVM. Sara completed a residency in Laboratory Animal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and is now board certified in Lab Animal Medicine. She works as the Attending Veterinarian for Elanco Animal Health in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

In 2022, Sara joined a team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians on a rhino dehorning mission in South Africa sponsored by Loop Abroad. She has also completed university and vet school placements in Costa Rica and Thailand.

In her spare time, Sara likes to hang out with her pets, read, and travel.
