Stephanie Atkins
Group Leader
Stephanie was born and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bridgewater College in 2017. She then went on to obtain her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College and is now a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Virginia. She also is a registered Laboratory Animal Technician through the American Association of Laboratory Animal Sciences. Stephanie participated in Loop Abroad’s College Veterinary Service program in Thiland during the summer of 2016 and traveled again to Thailand in 2017 as a trip leader with the high school pre-vet group. In 2025 she traveled to Australia with Loop abroad to work with college pre-vet students at Walabout Wildlife Sanctuary. She has worked in small animal clinics, lab animal research, and currently teaches veterinary technology at her alma mater Blue Ridge Community College. She is the advisor for the vet tech club at her school and the coordinator for the vet tech programs student mentorship program. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband Anthony, watching TV or movies, eating Chick-fil-a, and loving on her fur children: her 3-legged dog Eddy, cat Tiger, and two Guinea pigs Squeaky and Snowy.
