Victoria Bender, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Victoria Bender is a 2016 graduate of University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and earned her BS in Biology from Duke University. She was born in New York and raised in Florida, where she still has family. While in veterinary school, she spent time at various zoological institutions, externed at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom, and conducted research on the immune systems of elephants and manatees. In her ten years as a veterinarian, she has primarily worked in private practice with a caseload made up exclusively of exotic mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and wildlife in states including Georgia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. She also provided relief for zoological institutions and is a past president of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV) after having served of the board of directors and scientific committee for several years. She is currently based in Arizona working in a corporate role advising on pet health and welfare for the retail pet industry. Outside of work, Dr. Bender works as a professional actor, improviser, and costume designer. She hosts weekly trivia nights and enjoys both domestic and international travel. When she’s not out and about, she’s happy at home with her cat (K@) and miniature schnauzer (Winnie).
