Loop Abroad requires that all students have medical insurance that covers them during their time abroad. If you do not have a plan that covers your time during your Loop Abroad trip, you can purchase travel medical insurance.

Here is what Loop Abroad suggest if you are using travel medical insurance to meet your Loop Abroad medical insurance requirement:

• $50,000 in primary medical coverage
• At least $1 million in medical evacuation coverage
• A zero dollar deductible

Keep in mind that trip cancellation coverage will increase the price of your plan a lot, and is not required by Loop Abroad.

• Click Emergency Medical and choose $50,000 or more
• Click Medical Evacuation and choose $1,000,000 or more
• Look at the policy results. On the right, next to the price, click where it says “Policy Detail”
• In the window that pops up, scroll down to to the Medical section
• Next to Medical Deductible, click Select Options
• Under Medical Deductions, choose $0 per occurrence (this will cause the price to raise slightly from the estimate you just saw)

You should note that coverage is limited for pre-existing conditions and activities such as rafting and ziplining are not covered.
