Shelby Turner

Shelby is a highly passionate individual with a wealth of knowledge and experience in animal care and welfare. She holds an Honours Biology Degree from Wilfred Laurier University and was actively involved in the animal rescue club on her university campus. Shelby was born in Ontario and throughout her life, she has worked with a wide variety of animals, from household pets to exotic wildlife. She has experience working in private vet practices as well as in animal rehabilitation centers. One of her most memorable experiences was volunteering with the Loop Abroad Team in 2022 in Australia to provide care to a wide variety of wildlife. In addition to her work with animals, Shelby works on a variety of art projects, where proceeds are given to local animal care shelters. Outside of work, Shelby enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures. She has visited many countries and is always for a new challenge or adventure. She enjoys spending time in the great outdoors hiking, camping, and kayaking, and she also knows how to play a variety of instr. With her experience and passion for animal care, Shelby is excited to join the Loop Abroad team as a support staff mentor. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and helping students gain valuable hands-on experience in the field.
