Amaya Lloyd is a dedicated animal lover with a passion for Veterinary medicine. Amaya is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Health Science from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, she is set to graduate in the Spring of 2025. Amaya’s academic journey at Cal Poly Pomona has provided her with a diverse range of experiences, working not only with cats and dogs but also with larger animals such as horses, cows, sheep, and goats. Inspired by her passion for Veterinary medicine, Amaya aspires to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist upon graduation, with a focus on providing compassionate care to animals in need. In addition to her academic pursuits, Amaya has a keen interest in animal sanctuary work and zoo medicine. Amaya’s enthusiasm for animal welfare led her to participate in the Thailand 2023 College Pre-Vet Summer program, an experience that left a lasting impression on her. Her love for animals extends to her own pets, including two cats named Laszlo and Kirby, as well as a crested gecko named Remy. Outside of her academic and professional commitments, Amaya enjoys skateboarding, hiking, and exploring new destinations. Her adventurous spirit and love for nature drive her to seek out new experiences and opportunities to connect with animals and the environment.
